McConnell preemptively blames Trump for immigration-failure.

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2018/1/17/1733654/-Mitch-McConnell-cedes-all-his-power-the-power-of-the-whole-Congress-to-Trump-on-immigration

When asked about what he's doing about immigration, the Dream Act, the bipartisan reform bill being introduced today, and what all that means for shutdown talks, he passed the buck to the White House.

"I am looking for something that President Trump supports and he has not yet indicated what measure he is willing to sign. As soon as we figure out what he is for then I would be convinced that we are not just spinning our wheels going through this issue on the floor but actually dealing with a bill that has a chance to become law."

Turtle has it harder than Eddie Munster due to the close D-R split in the Senate. The House can pass whatever and it would never get through the Senate.
