Trumps Physical Revealed Serious Heart Concerns, Outside Experts Say

WASHINGTON — Cardiologists not associated with the White House said Wednesday that President Trump’s physical exam revealed serious heart concerns, including very high levels of so-called bad cholesterol, which raises the risk that Mr. Trump could suffer a heart attack while in office.

Dr. Ronny L. Jackson, a rear admiral and the White House physician, said Tuesday in his report on the president’s medical condition that Mr. Trump was in “excellent” cardiac health despite having an LDL cholesterol level of 143, well above the desired level of 100 or less.

Dr. Eric Topol, a cardiologist at the Scripps Research Institute, disputed that rosy assessment. He said on Wednesday that the most alarming fact is that the president’s LDL levels remain above 140 even though he is taking 10 milligrams of Crestor, a powerful drug that is used to lower cholesterol levels to well below 100.

“That’s a really high LDL,” Dr. Topol said, echoing the concerns of other heart experts who reviewed Dr. Jackson’s report. “We’re talking about a 70-plus-year-old man who is obese and doesn’t exercise. Just looking at the lab value, you would raise a big red flag.”

He added: “I would never use the word excellent health. How you could take these indices and say excellent health? That is completely contradicted.”

If a doctor says he is in "excellent health" it means he could collapse from a heart attack any moment now.

Exercise would bring that down below 100 if he'd bother.

I bet he gets no fiber. No wonder he's straining on the toilet and using that time to tweet.

Who was overweight, drank from morning to night, chain smoked and had the most stressful job on the planet when defending GB against the Nazis. He lived until 90. The human body is very complex and defies "experts" routinely.

We didn't have ways to look at cholesterol levels for him or Churchill, though. If you're going to throw out the science that does strongly correlate cholesterol levels and balance with cardiac health when there's no data to compare, sure, being overweight isn't a bar to the Presidency.

But Bill's weight and diet issues after his presidential physicians and McD's trips were fair game for both comedy (SNL) and concern, and it led to improvement in his overall health to heed the warnings.

Sure, if you really want Pence as President rather than for the GOP to have to own Trump all the way, we shouldn't care about his cardiac health -- and that's leaving out the simple human aspect that we should want everyone to enjoy health, even our political enemies. But I'd prefer he find food he likes that also likes him. We don't need him croaking in office for any reason, he'd be martyred in the MAGA-cult eyes forever. They'd accuse the "fake news" of hounding him into his grave.

The issue is most posters are saying the navy admiral doctor is a liar. The test were made up. Ok, if you believe that then you have to believe he was a liar when he was reporting on the guy who appointed him to be WH doctor -- President Obama. I don't think he was a liar when reporting on Obama and I don't think he is a liar now.

I was going with the facts in the report being concerning as they stand, not saying they were incorrect.

The way he jumps from subject to subject, loses threads, rarely finishes a sentence make me think dementia like my grandmother or STONED like me. When my fiends & I smoke weed we talk similarly - forget what we're talking about, forget words, etc.

But sometimes he talks fast like coke or meth. I'd like to see him pass a piss test. Just an opinion but something to think about.

Abs Of Lard. The basic building blocks are butter and ice cream.

For instance, you never get out of bed without a good foundation to begin your day - a stick of butter, with other food items, or on their own.

LDL reported in 09/2016: 94
LDL now: 143

He was taking Crestor for it at the time of the 09/2016 results, so assuming he's been taking it since at least that time it is clearly not lowering the LDL, though it might be temporarily preventing a medical emergency.

If Trump thinks that he's in "excellent health," then he has no incentive to change his grotesquely unhealthy lifestyle.

And if he continues on that unhealthy path, then...
