Possible reason bannon wouldn't answer questions at the hearing but will for Mueller.

Nunes. Plain and simple. It's a closed hearing and with Nunes there. nunes will tell trump everything that bannon testifies to, therefore incurring trumps wrath.

When he testifies for Mueller, he doesn't have to worry that trump will hear any of it, so he can speak freely.

"Sloppy Steve", damage to his political influence notwithstanding, is still holding a lot more cards than Trump gives him credit for. He was there when the shit with Comey went down and a lot more. At this point it is quite plausible that he would spill the beans for Mueller and Mueller alone. And of course, revenge is a dish best served cold.

since they are calling Bannon back tomorrow under subpoena. It's an obvious interference with Mueller's investigation, from my perspective. Hard to figure what Trump and Nunes have up their sleeve??

5. Yes; it's about Dustbin Nunes, but it's not about PISSING off Trump, it's about TIPPING off Trump.

Bannon's pissed and he knows he can cause more damage by taking the big stuff straight to Mueller, vs Dustbin Nunes.

6. Executive privilege is only feasible when WH deals with Congress, but not with DOJ Special Counsel

WH claim of executive privilege is not justifiable regarding questions to Bannon about activities before Trump was Pres. and after Bannon left his WH government employment, but at least in some cases executive privilege is applicable for a WH dealing with a separate branch in a Congressional investigation, but it is totally without merit or legal standing in DOJ/FBI criminal investigation.

Others cannot claim executive privilege in the President's name? Is that correct?

8. Mueller gave Bannon plausible cover when he dropped the subpoena on him last week

In anticipation of the House Committee hearing yesterday.

I have no doubt that the special counsel's office will respectfully request that Bannon's congressional testimony be postponed until after his grand jury testimony.

No need to give the snakes on the committee a little mouse to devour until the true story has been told. No wonder Nunes was livid yesterday. His chance for obfuscation may have passed him by.

And nobody heard about it?

But Mueller wanted the press to know about it before Bannon went before Nunes" Committee? Just as he was entering the room?

What was the message and who was he sending it to??
