Passenger turned away from two flights after wearing 10 layers of clothing to avoid luggage fee

A man travelling from Iceland to London was turned away from a British Airways flight after he wore eight pairs of pants and 10 shirts to avoid paying for excess luggage.

Ryan Carney Williams, who goes by the name Ryan Hawaii, was due to fly from Keflavik airport on Wednesday when he was refused a boarding pass by the airline.

He was reportedly stopped from boarding his flight back to the UK after he put on all the clothes that wouldn't fit in his checked luggage.

Taking to his social media page to document the debacle, Mr Hawaii tweeted: “@British_Airways hi being held at Iceland Keflavik airport because I had no baggage put all the clothes on and they still won't let me on. Racial profiling?”

I have a friend on a trip right now. She is 6000 miles from home in a country she does not know well and her luggage is somewhere, no one knows where. She is 4 days without her things. The airline has no idea when she will get them nor do they know where they are. She paid $200.00 just for the luxury of even having luggage on the flight. When reading about it I saw another person post that she was on a trip for 2 weeks and did not see her luggage for another 4 weeks after she got home. Luggage gone for 6 weeks. I wonder that more people do not wear everything on the plane.

Airlines advertise super-cheap flights as a come-on, then add on one fee after another for things that used to be included in the ticket.

For your super-cheap ticket, you get no carryons and no checked luggage and your body gets folded like a pretzel while your legs cramp up and develop DVT.

That's what you pay for and that's what you get.

Here is what your ticket really costs if you want to fly like a human being:

Cheap ticket $A
Seat with leg room $B
Carryon bag $C
Checked bag $D
Second checked bag $E

A plus B plus C plus D plus E = the Actual Cost of Your Ticket. All the rest is bullshit.

Unless you are cool with flying with nothing but the clothes on your back and your purse/wallet, and folding up like a pretzel.

NB: Last time I flew alone I was using up frequent flyer miles. I decided on leg room, and it was heavenly. However, that was not covered and I paid $110 up front and every time I changed planes. That apparently is part of the Actual Cost of the Ticket. I will save up for it in the future, because flying has become very painful for me, and my sis is 3,000 miles away.

I recommend "Cheap Flights" by Fascinating Aida, available on You Tube. Guaranteed to make you LOL.
