He is less than 3 minutes in, and so profoundly moved, so honest and real, I had to grab Kleenex.
What a contrast to the lying plastic people in this Admin.

(31,392 posts)I don't remember excuses are BS and stock in trade for Republicans. Lying is so easy and natural for them. They wear their whiteness like some God approved sign of superiority. Makes me want to puke.

Just waiting for the attacks against him after this. . When they come, we need to speak out.

Or Do They, Now...?
Let's try to remember those grade school lessons regarding context, nuance, condition... and especially avoiding a conclusion when all we do is point to subjective evidence which already validates our biases.

(3,784 posts)After his speech at the Convention, I was all over Cory Booker. I couldn't wait to see him run for President. Then, in his first opportunity to start laying the groundwork as a hero of the Democratic Party, he sides with Big Pharma. He really disappointed me that day. It wasn't Confirmation Bias. I HAD no bias. I WANTED to like him. It revealed him to be a guy I can't really trust yet. Maybe he turns it around by 2020. I actually hope he does, because he has a special quality that I think would appeal to a lot of Americans.
But don't sit there and try to tell me his vote validated a bias I already had against him. He was a clean slate to me, and he was sitting there at #1 on my list of candidates to support in 2020, and then his vote tainted him. He can still rescue himself by voting against Big Pharma in the future, maybe on an even better bill, but as of right now, all I have to judge him on is a No vote on a prescription drug bill and a history of taking money from Big Pharma that I discovered AFTER his vote.
