Over a dozen arrested for feeding homeless in El Cajon.

Over a dozen people were arrested Sunday evening in El Cajon for feeding the local homeless population.

The arrests come in the wake of a newly enacted city ordinance banning people from feeding the homeless in public, but the group defied the new ordinance in an act of civil disobedience.

The group was given citations and not taken to jail.

This act of civil disobedience was in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., one attendee said.

The group plans to do the same thing in two weeks.

instead of trying to take everyone's rights and livelihood away, they should be trying to feed everyone. That is the example Christ set for real Christians.

But no, they meekly follow laws that go directly against Christian dogma.

The ban is for individuals/groups without permits

New Permits have been temporarily banned

Permits are encouraged so the recipients of the food know safety and industry checks and requirements are in place

So technically anyone wanting to help with feeding homeless people, while waiting for the permits to be issued again, can hook up with those individuals/groups who have current permits
