It seems to me that Republicans have two sets of rationalizations for things

One is Denial, and the other is Defensive.

On Roy Moore:
Denial - "Roy Moore didn't go after girls. Period."
Defensive - "It's how they did things in that time period. You liberals don't understand. Period."

On Donald Trump:
Denial - "Donald Trump didn't say that about those countries. Period."
Defensive - "It's how the forgotten men and women talk. You liberals wouldn't understand. Period."

I'm sure we can find this with other things as well. Maybe we should look for ways to mess this up. Something I noticed is that there was a place (Twitter thread) where people were being both in denial and defensive about Moore, get them to interact with one another?

On Roy Moore:
Deflection: "Oh, but Bill Clinton molested and raped hundreds of women and that was PROVEN and you LIBERALS were just fine with that so STFU!"

On Donald Trump:
Deflection: "Oh, but Robert Byrd was a Democrat who was in the Klan decades ago [note: he died in 2010] and you LIBERALS were just fine with that so STFU!"
