OP
Not a fan of the term but Trump certainly is an ugly person inside in particular. nt

Actually when you read the book - youll realize that the term Ugly American referred to the big nose on the face of the American - but the person was considered a good person who just had a big nose.
Of course, I read the book decades ago.
But, I do agree with you that Donald is truly an Ugly American, inside and out.

The Ugly American
As I was all of six years old in 1958 when the book came out, it's no wonder I didn't notice it. And by 1964 the title had become so firmly entrenched as a pejorative for loud, obnoxious Americans abroad that LBJ even mentioned it in a speech.
The protagonist appears to be one to which I can relate. In my limited travels I have tried to relate to the local population from their point of view, although sometimes I found it quite hard to understand certain things. In fact on my most intense travel, to Central America with a backpack, despite being an avid photographer, I left my camera at home on purpose, both to avoid the tourist stereotype and to force myself to look for the experience rather than the image. I have never regretted that decision.
And so it goes...
