(33,643 posts)Insofar as I can understand how Trump could convince himself that Bannon wasn't responsible for Trump's POTUS win ... given he was in fact not directly involved in the campaign ... when he was winning the GOP Primary.
It kinda makes SOME sense that he felt he was already winning, at least to the extent that it was possible for him to do so at the time. Nevermind that Bannon at Breitbart was propping him up and pimping him pretty much daily even during that time ... I could see how Trump would feel like it was 'Himself' and his 'rallies' ... that brought on his Primary wins.
His reasoning in this rare instance is 'more or less fact-based'. Maybe we should give him credit for 'presenting something approaching a reasonable argument'. Kinda like how we'd pat our 7 year old on the head when they ask 'Daddy? How does Santa go to EVERY kids house in the whole world in just one night?!? Aren't there like WAY too many kids to visit in such a short time?'
I mean, of course, it's one in favor of 'how awesome he actually is', but would he EVER bother to make 'an argument' about anyone or anything ELSE, apart from his own awesomeness?
We shouldn't be expecting that happen, put it that way. We're dealing with a fascist toddler at this point, it helps to remember that.
Credit where it's due, Dotard. Bannon didn't win the Primary for you. You're RIGHT. Now go eat a bucket of KFC and mashed potatoes and gravy to celebrate. You've earned it after your BIG BOY DAY you've just had. Maybe even have some pie and ice cream!
