(21,159 posts)She was fine with building the environment that created a Trump presidency. She may hate it, and I can applaud her for that, but she helped make it possible. In that there is no "gotta love" from me.

(40,236 posts)There are decent people who are republicans. Making half the country the enemy hurts the nation as a whole. Are a lot of republicans assholes? Absolutely, many are. But to dismiss anyone with a different opinion is a level of intolerance that helps no one.

(21,159 posts)I can be thrilled that she opposes Trump, but it was her and those like her who gave us this.
Remorse is great, but she is still at fault.

she is not to blame.
white supremacists are not the fault of a latina woman.

(21,159 posts)The GOP started down this path to Trump beginning in the 1990s. Everyone who pushed the GOP's lying, cheating, divisive agenda from that time on brought us to this place in time.
There may be worse people, but she carried the water, too. While it may be ironic that a Latina woman has helped usher in white supremacists, she supported the political agenda that normalized them.
Fuck her.

(21,159 posts)It's a little hard to feel sympathy for the hate she pushed when she helped the GOP agenda that leveraged it.
She knew what she was doing and didn't care until it affected her. While I am thrilled that she has awoken from this, she is no hero.

(21,159 posts)Are you being intentionally obtuse or am I simply explaining this badly?
Let's take it step by step and you give me the step number that you disagree with.
1> Since at least the early 1990s, GOP strategists have leveraged the outrage of the far right. (The people Clinton referred to as "deplorables. " )
2> Each time the GOP utilized that leverage, they increasingly empowered their extreme fringes.
3> As the GOP began filling seats in the various branches of our state and local governments, the laws passed and court decisions made reflected those fringe values.
4> Those fringe laws and legal decisions set the table for a Donald Trump.
4> Ana Navarro helped to fill those seats.
5> Now, after happily electing extremists (or at least those who would cater to them) she's said because it't now affecting her.
6> Fuck her and any other GOP strategist who took us to the point of Trump.

(89,281 posts)I expect you are being intentionally obtuse, so there really isn't a point in me further explaining the obvious.
Have a nice day.

(3,181 posts)Her party rejects her. They think she comes from a shithole, hence that she is also shit. That's probably in her head and soul right now. She voted for Clinton, so I do have hope for her.
