Surely Bannon wouldn't lie about that?

In a lot of ways, Trump remains Bannon's ideal President. I wouldn't be shocked if today's racist utterance even brought a tear to Bannon's eye; he must be beaming with pride.

That said, Trump fired him, mocked him publicly, and assuredly had some role in his firing from Breitbart. So Bannon clearly has motive to squeal, especially if it helps his own case.

We'll see . . .

We know this because the lawyer he hired is the same guy who also represents former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and current White House Counsel Don McGahn in the scandal.
The same attorney cannot represent different people in the same criminal investigation if those clients are in any danger of having competing legal interests.
And we know Pribus has been talking to Mueller.

Bannon has no scruples, so has no problem squealing on Trump.
