Washington (CNN)Controversial former Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Wednesday called former President Barack Obama's birth certificate a "phony document" in an interview on CNN.

"No doubt about it, we have the evidence, I'm not going to go into all the details, yeah, it's a phony document," Arpaio said on "Cuomo Primetime."

Arpaio announced Tuesday that he is running for the Arizona US Senate seat currently occupied by Sen. Jeff Flake, who is retiring from Congress at the end of his term.
He was a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump during the campaign, and was pardoned by the President in August. The former Maricopa County sheriff was convicted for defying a court order to stop racially profiling Latinos, and he has been widely criticized for his hard-line stances on immigration.

Arpaio has touted "birtherism" in the past, and, when speaking to CNN's Chris Cuomo on Wednesday evening, said he has proof that Obama's birth certificate is fake.

The exact same thing was done in the AZ GOP Senate primary in 2016 when McCain was threatened by Ward and it worked.

I just realized today that Amazon has Doctor Who, so I guess I will sign up for Amazon Prime, even though I order few things from them. They even have classic Doctor Who going back to the very early shows. Those are what got me hooked on Doctor Who - back in the 1970s Georgia Public TV used to show them and we could pick them up with a good antenna.

Eventually I will sign up for Acorn, but even with just Roku Channel, Netflix, Tubi and Crackle I have more than I can watch right now. I'm paying for Hulu but haven't watched anything on it.

I spend most of the day watching murder mysteries, then might watch Chris Hayes and Rachel - but if they depress me I go back to streaming.
