I had trouble seeing it at first, but it’s pretty obvious the troll was trying to say “You are proof that having thousands of followers...” etc. etc.

The other way of reading it (“Your proof...”) implies that horse whisperer has presented an argument that the troll finds less then compelling. For example “Your proof that the sun goes around the earth does not seem to have a sound scientific basis”.

So while grammatically it is true that “Your” or “You’re” could both be used to construct the sentence in question, when you look at what the troll seems to be trying to say, “You are...” (You’re) seems to be the intent of the point they were trying to make.

a common error. It depends on the intent of the writer in this situation as to how it's interpreted.

Your interpretation is probably right but it doesn't jump out at you as grammatically incorrect on first read.
