Franken for President. Waters for VP. (drops mic)

Besides the nearly-infinite levels of qualifications, and beyond merely the awesome and world-changing political movement they would represent, that would be the best hair ever on a presidential campaign team.

And before you dismiss it out of hand, America loves a comeback kid, to say nothing of one who proves his innocence and teams up with a kid who works her way thru adversity to take out the schoolyard bully. THAT's an American archetype right there.

provides Republicans ready made attack ads against him. It doesn't matter that he was railroaded into resigning. He could conceivably run again for the Senate, but President? No. And too bad, because I'm rather fond of him.

Maxine Waters is already 79. Do we really want someone well into her 80's as VP? Really?

We tend to accept more limitations than we need to in pursuit of a higher-than-high ground. Let's perhaps stick to our strengths, keep our own coalition intact, and defend our own against attack.

The Republicans have mastered one tactic - not giving a shit what the opposition thinks and doing what they want. We are starting to catch on to the precedent they have set, to do what's right (a la Feinstein).

And how do you go about proving your innocence after you apologized for your behavior?

And how do you get the media to pay attention to any of your policy positions while you're doing so?

Why would she be in the second spot instead of the first?

The Democratic Party has a lot to make up for with African American voters, especially female African American voters. Thinking of a powerhouse like Waters as the lesser of the two candidates is pretty insulting imo.

Regardless of whether you feel he's been treated unfairly or not, he has been accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct. That will lose votes, no matter whether he was framed or not. I wouldn't even put him on as vp because of this stain--deserved or not--on his reputation.

Maxine Waters, otoh, is afaik unbesmirched by scandal and is a solid, outspoken, charismatic progressive, and women will vote for her.

And we owe it to African American women voters, plain and simple.

Actually, I think most americans would like someone who just came out and said, this happened and now I'm moving on. Just look right into the camera and take charge of the convo. It's political double-speak that we're all sick of!

I like Franken and if he can win, I'd sure vote for him.
