Steve Schmidt Laughs Off Trumps Davos Visit: Like When The Brady Bunch Took Off to Hawaii

The Trump show is going on location.

On MSNBC this afternoon, Nicole Wallace spoke with political analyst Steve Schmidt about President Trump‘s upcoming trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Trump’s soon-to-be visit has already raised some eyebrows, given the perception of Trump being seen fraternizing with the mega elite.

“This is sort of a silly conversation in some ways because we don’t know what he’ll do. His missteps in Europe are… it looks like a blooper reel,” Wallace joked. “But on a serious note, I actually think this could seriously undermine his brand and could make him look like he’s full of bleep. You look like you’re full of it when you run as the guy who’s going to drain the swamp, and not only do you help fill up the swamp in Washington, but you go and swim around in a champagne and caviar filled swamp in Davos.”

“It’s amazing, when a President of the United States travels internationally, there’s a strategic purpose to it,” Schmidt said. “There’s some goal that the president is trying to obtain. I have no idea what the purpose of the trip is to Davos. It’s just another episode of a TV show––not so different, I suppose, from when the Brady Bunch took off to Hawaii for a two part special. The Trump show––off to Davos, off to the Alps! You have no idea what the purpose of it is.”

Is Vladimir Putin attending the World Economic Forum in Davos? The Forum hasn't announced the guest list, but Putin has attended before. This could be good cover for Putin and his Cock Holster (thanks, Mr. Colbert ) to get together for a tête-à-tête. Like Schmidt said, “There’s some goal that the president is trying to obtain". He's not going because he enjoys the Alps in winter.
