Discussion about Mumbles (Trump).. Where did he come from? How did he get here? Religion? Whatever..

For the last couple of years I have been confused about Mumbles. I really know nothing about the man. I know his politics now but prior to the election I never heard much of anything of his being a huge GOP kind of guy. I never saw or heard of anyone questioning his political views other than asking him if he ran would it be as a dem or republican. About all the things I knew about him came from reading it at the grocery store counter as I passed by.

What about him being a big TV star? I watched part of his show once and thought it very trivial. Plus, he was hardly even on the show. It was mostly the old sidekick that I heard got fired and later his lame ass family. Was his show a number one hit (whatever that means) or something to insert in the time slot because they had nothing else? Regardless, to me the show sucked and the only thing it proved was there are a bunch of boot lickers out there.

Is the Trump organization a true real estate/construction company? I kind of doubt it. It appears to be more or less a contracting outfit that does nothing more than put the people who actually work with the people who actually have the money and they skim the 15% to 100% off the top if they ever pay the people or not. The workers sue the money, the money sues the workers, and Trump is taking the money and is arm's length from everything and hiding behind a wall of corporations. Not working for your money is a good gig if you can find one. Does Mumbles really own Trump Tower?

Another thing that I have wondered about is Mumbles and religion. Now I never heard anything about his religion in any broadcast media ever. Even in the grocery store line none of the rags there ever mentioned he even had a religion. Now he is all god and such? Where did that come from? I know he is kowtowing to the religious right (duh) but why hasn't anyone ever said anything about his church attendance prior to the election? Why hasn't he been called out about it by anyone? I would think actual religious leaders would want people to know Gump is using their religion to get votes and he doesn't give one happy fuck about them. Religious people always say it is what is in your heart that counts but Mumbles doesn't have one.

Anything anyone can add I would greatly appreciate it.

1. Trump, at first, was one of those people who was famous for being famous.

He was, and is, kind of a Kardashian character. He was a NY real estate developer who got a financial head start from his father. Over time his business (which now consists of hundreds of business entities) actually did buy, sell, develop and construct properties, but after multiple bankruptcies the Trump organization started leasing the Trump name only rather than actually developing and owning real estate. Trump made himself famous in the New York social scene by cultivating the media and doing things that would get attention. His nasty divorce from Ivana made big headlines in the gossip columns, and he got to be a big man-about-town through his shameless self-promotion. This eventually led to his tv show, "The Apprentice," which inexplicably was quite popular for awhile.

It was Trump's gift for self-promotion more than anything else that got him into politics, and the American worship of celebrity for its own sake that made it possible for him to run for president. Religion had nothing to do with it; Trump's only god is himself.

2. Everything he is is bogus

He's just manufactured by himself to prop up an ego that decades ago realized he wasn't anything special. Now most of us would, having realized that, tried to improve ourselves, maybe even try to be better and make a difference for others. Nope, not him. He decided somewhere in his little ferret brain that the solution was building a big fake person around his little real person.

the big fake persona is, above all, fake. His "fortune" is a huge pile of debt that he'll leave to his heirs to pay off (or go bankrupt). His hair is an engineering contraption. His 'intelligence' is just constant boasting and a willingness to screw everyone else. His religion is self-worship. His love is self-love. His marriages are props meant to make it seem like he had some sex drive and appeal.

The "political" evangelicals love him not because he's a man of faith, but because they think they can use him. They wouldn't let him coach their church's kids soccer team, but they're glad to inflict him on the rest of us. That is, they're just as bogus as he is. Maybe they're right and there is a hell, because then they and he can end up there.

I remember seeing him right after the inauguration at the National Prayer Service. He was with the Pences, who are actually churchgoers, and it's obvious that he has NO IDEA how to behave in church. They practically have to show him how to open his hymnal. He gets bored with praying and singing and starts jouncing around like a second-grader, craning his neck to see people behind him. He doesn't know the words to very common prayers and hymns.
But the Pences and the other evangelicals say-- with obvious insincerity, the Philistines-- that he really is a man of faith. Yeah, faith in his own ability to fool the venal and stupid.

3. So what makes Mumbles such a Maverick?

Is it just because he hasn't been in politics people think he is above the political infighting? Don't people realize that in his business enterprise he would be knee deep in politicians and crooks paying them off to allow building in NYC? The bigger the company the bigger the crook.

4. years and years ago i would hear him referring to himsef as The Donald..

...he disgusted me then. I read the headlines about his divorce from Ivana and his affair with Marla. I remember thinking this guys wives all look alike. Ivana had a hotel or something in Reno I remember thinking 'good for her to get away from that man and make it on her own'. I remember something he had in Lake Tahoe (I think) with his name or initial on it. I stayed away from it. Always the tv had him on for interviews. The rich playboy! Well the media giving this evil person BJs for years and years and years is my theory as to why hes in the position he is now. Did he do a lot? sure! but so did Bill Gates, Steven Jobs, on and on..people who made a REAL contribution...but they weren't sexy or salacious enough I guess for TV so we all got daily doses of trump whether we wanted it or not. And we still do!
