Job Gains Meaningless WITHOUT "MASS LAYOFF REPORT". Many DOL Statistics Gone.
I believe Bush ended the "mass layoff report" from DOL labor statistics years ago. So unless you know how many individuals were laid off or lost jobs during the same time it is meaningless. It is like a going against the current. If you are going 15 knots forward but the current is moving 20 knots against you, you are going backwards. We have not seen a mass layoff report for probably nearly a decade.
Plus the jobs created are not defined as to how good the jobs were. So if you created 200,000 jobs but 50% were Uber jobs or temp jobs or part time, or spot jobs it means you really created only 100,000 full time jobs. It is like looking at patient who has two cuts. One is like a paper cut the other is like a major vein but you only report the paper cut saying the patient is doing fine.
The real truth is in the details. How many jobs that support a family were created that is the question.
