However, while Trump is documented as knowing very little about how the ACA actually worked or healthcare policy overall, he has repeatedly let slip—both as a candidate and since taking office—that he perceives the wisdom of a system that covers everyone and even said explicitly at one point that "government's gonna pay for it."
In May of 2017, President Trump praised Australia as having "better healthcare" than Americans have in the United States, though it was unclear if he actually knew the Australians enjoy a single-payer system administered by the government.
And during the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump told 60 Minute's Scott Pelley that though it was a very "un-Republican thing for me to say," he would create a universal system which would "take care of everybody"—even those too poor to afford private insurance.

Who knew that Trump was such an advocate of single payer?

1. He was a Dem after all! Even Jared and Ivanka had their political affiliation

listed as Dem on Wikipedia until about 8 months ago (after the inauguration in fact). He is a con man and a fraud.

But as a millionaire. Medicare is not really an issue that affects him.

3. The problem isn't that he asked the question.

I would hope all Presidents ask lots of questions.

The question, is...what was his response to the answer?

And we know that he lies constantly, or reflexively.
