(82,849 posts)There was a clip on YouTube with Christie honoring some New Jersey boy who had become an Eagle Scout. Small room, maybe 30 people. Christie spoke extemporaneously. Christie had obviously done a little homework on the boy, knew his home town and the project he'd done to become an Eagle Scout. Spoke for several minutes, recognized the boy, his relatives in the audience, warm remarks about the accomplishment. It was rather impressive, and I say this as someone who has no use for Chris Christie. The man in that clip is a politician in the good sense, someone who can speak in complete sentences, and recognize an accomplishment, making everyone around the boy feel good about knowing him and being part of his life.
The man leaving the governor's office in New Jersey? A waste. A complete and utter waste. Five minutes after he's gone, nobody will remember one good thing about him.
