Mueller has no tells. Mueller is sitting there, looking out over the table, watching his opponents, while he carefully conceals his own hand. No leaks. No tells. Nobody is going to see his cards until the river. Nope.
Trump is sitting in the chair opposite of Meuller, flop sweat beading up on his forehead and upper lip. Should he go "all in?" Should he fold? Should he wait it out and just call? Trump doesn't know. Trump can't tell what Mueller is thinking, and Trump's hand is weak.
Trump is lousy at Poker. He is a walking, talking tell. Mueller can read him like a book. Mueller sits, unperturbed, and watches Trump's face go moister and moister.
The end game is fast approaching.
Edit: terminology correction...

(16,104 posts)You bring up charges and take American citizens to trial - you don't talk about it!
Two guilty pleas and he still isn't talking about it!

Poker. It's a game of chance, but a good player uses all of his senses to work the odds.

(31,112 posts)Dont get me started, god do I love that game.
Many years ago someone I knew on the net knew trump and schooled me about his mob ties, how much of a criminal he was and how he knew nothing about anything.
Listen to any interview like the ones with Stern, you will never hear him speak specifically about business behavour or knowledge, the reason is he has none, at all.
He hires people who will carry out what his mob friends tell him to do and he fails often which is why he owes russian oligarchs 1.7 billion, actually 1.8 now with interest.
Playing him in poker could go two ways, clean him out or lose to him because he is an actual sociopath and reading him could be tricky.

(2,064 posts)However I am not optimistic.
Nixon was obviously involved in Watergate, and had lost much of his political support by the end of 1973, but didnt resign until August 1974.
Nixon didnt have the right wing echo chamber supporting him or a majority in either house of Congress.
Unfortunately Trump will have to go completely bonkers and be removed under the 25th amendment for this to end quickly.

(17,984 posts)But that would mean he understands something of poker. It's much better for him to be all alone (old maid) contemplating his real estate empire (Baltic Ave) and his complete reversal of fortune (the Hanged Man).
