I just could never see that movie

not in the theater and not at home. not in a plane or on a train or in a car or- oops, sorry to lapse into Seussian.

I just couldn't watch that movie without thinking about what happened and the victims and the real terror that enveloped that theater.

Honestly, I don't see how anyone could.

The fault lies in a culture that allows military grade arsenals to be easily and legally obtained by deranged individuals. This isn't about hunting. It isn't about self defense. It's about slaughter. That's all the things are good for.

can't see it because I know that all I'll think about is the horror of Aurora. I didn't suggest that other people should feel that way or that it is the movie's fault.

Oh, and I should mention I'm much more a Forsyte Saga type than a superhero type, so it's not as if I would have felt some great draw to see it. Had this not happened I probably would have seen it, but I'm not a huge fan of the first one and I didn't even see the second.

makes perfect sense to me. We all have our individual interests and there are movies and TV shows my friends like that I think are dumb as hell - and they feel the same way about me.
However, claiming that you won't go see a movie because something bad happened while that movie was playing - in a theater that you weren't in - seems a little over-the-top to me.

It doesn't grok.
Unless there is something you haven't mentioned like that you were there or lost a loved one there. It might make a little more sense then, but even then....

yesterday. DU does have such an abundance of piss poor comparisons, analogies and metaphors.

Is this latest Batman movie in any way a memorial to what happened at that theatre? Uh, clue: No. Not. Zippo.

Which us the reason you gave for not going to the Batman movie.

The question is, do you live your life trying to avoid anything that reminds you in any way of something unpleasant? I don't, but I guess some people do.

That and education. Sorry you didn't know even that, dear. Pretty fucking basic stuff. The purpose of the Batman movie franchise is to entertain.

See the difference? It couldn't be more in your face obvious.

here in Korea, but I ended up busy with other stuff. After what has happened I think I'll wait until it's on torrent and get it. The thing I dislike is the movie is too long, 2 hours 45 minutes.
