4. Your 12 year old daughter was there?

Well your post is somewhat cryptic, but if that is what you meant then she needs to protect her hearing because a stupid ass 19yr old is fixing to get shot in his stupid ass...literally!

I'm just sure that this old man would have saved just saved the day if
he was in the Theater. Most likely, this old idiot would have made a tragic
situation even worse. 10,000 a year and that ain't enough for you is it?

2. The moral of that story is to NOT try to rob a store in Florida. ...

Jul 2012

If that is your profession it might be wise to move to Chicago where honest citizens can't legally carry firearms. Florida has a far more dangerous work environment for criminals.

There was some talk that the guy in the video might be charged as he fired at the robbers after they left the store. This will probably not happen as it would be difficult to find a jury that would convict him of a crime.

5. "some talk"? 6 days ago, it was being reported "Bill Gladson of the State Attorney's Office"

said "Based on what I have seen and what I know at this time, I don't anticipate filing any charges."

This story was previously reported on DU at least twice.

Surprised that the right wing media hasn't been all over
this story. Especially now.
Anyway thanks, I'm done with my first thread and especially
done with Tejas!

If this isn't a major talking point on Fox within the next two
days, I'll buy you 5 shots of your choice Tequila. If I turn
out to be correct you can send me a $20 gift certificate from
your favorite store, Walmart.

11. those robbers went to rob stuff, not kill people

i think it's criminals like that who would more likely end up being shot than criminals who go out to murder people.

what we are told can never happen. You'll be too scared, it will happen too fast, the robber will have surprise, you will just hit bystanders...
Here is an elderly armed citizen who stopped an armed robbery in its tracks. No one but the criminals gets hurt.

Who cares about what the NRA says. What did Brady or VPC say?

But next time idiots like this can do a hell amount of damage
to innocent bystanders. But guys like you don't care about the
dozens that might be injured your only concern is to protect
all those nuts who horde and shine their guns. Manhood is
such a bitch!

I don't know anyone who hordes and/or shines guns.

I do know some who are all about protecting the real victim, the criminal.

I choose to not ignore facts I can see with my eyes. An elderly man took on two 19 yo thugs (you charge into a place with weapons threatening people and smashing computers you are a thug) and sent them running. No one else was hurt.

Is this how far we've degenerated where the act of defending yourself against armed robbers is perceived as the act of a "jerk"? Who the fuck cares what the NRA thinks? If you think this old guy is a jerk, I'm curious to know how would you characterize the two gun-wielding thugs that tried to rob him & everyone else in that cafe?

If you had a couple of kids, if you would be comfortable with that guy
living next door to you. I wonder how many times you would be
looking out of your window to see where your kids were playing?
Fuck those piece of shit armed assholes. Is that what you needed
to hear?
Now, this fucking old guy is a still a jerk!

cowboy toter wannabe...going around with a gun or two stuffed down his pants waiting for an opportunity to shoot people.

Probably using an assault 380 with killer clips and special loads.

23. Interesting that the KOS person lies so much
Mon Jul 23, 2012, 04:40 PM
Jul 2012

He describes what happens in the video as if his description would shape what viewers saw, which does work sometimes.

It does not, however, work when the description is such an egregious pack of lies. The assailants were not already on their way out when the man opened fire. The first assailant shot turns around and runs only in response to the gun.

And the danger to others, though quite real, of course, is not as extreme as the Kos diarist claims. I see a pretty narrowly focused burst of fire on close-up targets.

That said, the last shot the man fires, out the door, would constitute homicide if he killed someone with that shot. It is clearly improper since the assailants are entirely out of the building. (There was a Bethesda Md case some years back where a jeweler pursued robbers out of the store onto the sidewalk and shot them as they fled. He was charged with homicide and nobody could understand why, but it was clearly improper.)

I think most people toting guns are a general menace, but it would be absurd to play the, "No privately owned gun was ever useful to any positive purpose" game.

Stupid game for stupid people.
