I think he is really going to do it.

After reading the NY Times article from today, I think that Trump is going to try to fire Mueller and shut down the investigation. In the article he states that he thinks that Mueller will treat him fairly. He also says that he has the power to do whatever he wants with the Department of Justice. I think this is a warning to Mueller that he wants the probe ended soon with him exonerated, or he is going to shut it down. This should result in Trumps impeachment for abuse of power. Will enough Republicans stand up for what is right.? If they don't , they will pay at the ballot box. My hunch is, his lawyers don't want him to do it; he is going to do it anyway. The final result will be him in jail and a very wounded Republican Party.

He can resign and go home if it is settled while he is still in office. Not so if somehow this carries on after.

He can’t directly fire Mueller. The path to Mueller lies through Rosenstein.

And will do absolutely nothing.
They are craven, selfish, uncaring cowards.

They will continue to howl during the elections and many fools will believe them.

I know we'll get more votes than last time but I don't have faith that enough American people to see the truth and do the right thing to turn the tables.
There are too many of them that are literally brainwashed and no evidence will ever change that.
In fact the more truth there is to claims the less they believer them.
They are dedicated to believing lies above all other considerations.

There will be screams and massive protests calling for impeachment.
The GOP will claim just what Fox News is spreading;
The rest of the media will accept it; the public will accept it; the law will accept it; we're fucked.
This is the way it's been going for the right wing for some time, why would it change?

Over a decade ago, I got to know an Italian man who also happened to be a police officer in the US. We would often talk about politics and also about his beloved homeland of Italy. I am always interested in politics and also understanding other Nations governmental structures. Being from a German family and lived half my life in Europe between the US and there, I would have many conversations with him about Germany, Italy, the US, the EU etc. Because we got to know each other fairly well, he shared very openly his point of view on politics and religion and his worldview. For starters he very proudly declared that back in Italy, he is a proud supporter of the fascist party...here in the US a Republican. He talked about how the fascists built Italy and so many of its incredible infrastructure and even the medical system. He said Mussolini was a "real man" and that America would be greater if it had a leader like Mussolini. He talked about Putin a lot as being an example of a great leader and a real man. That Obama was evil and was destroying America. He talked about how Italy was being destroyed by the immigrants and the EU was evil and needed to be destroyed. When he voted in 2008 election he supported Alan Keyes (which was very surprising to me especially since he loathed Obama and often made very rascist statements about Blacks). His support for President in 2016 was Trump. (Also strange because he was a staunch Catholic and didn't believe in Divorce and stated that often before Trump became candidate).

I am not getting into all the details, but there were many things that he said about his beliefs that were very disturbing to me and eventually led up to me actually not speaking to him anymore because it concerned me a lot and made me uncomfortable. One of the things was that starting back in 2008 he started making trips back to Italy for vacation, but when he would return, he would discuss about meetings he had with Russians and discussing political strategy for how to protect Italy, get rid of EU and save the US from itself.

I didn't think much about it for many years, especially as I cut off contact with him in 2016. But now, after the election results and the meddling of Russia, Brexit and what is happening in Europe.....his love and admiration for Mussolini and in particular Putin...I can't help but think that even back in 2008, that Russians were already implementing a plan for what they were going to be doing and they recruited people like this man (a US police officer and Republican) to be part of "Making America Great Again"....

If this is the case, it would explain a lot and also I believe that what brought Trump into the White House goes far deeper than any of us can imagine....and that includes that there are many US citizens, including police officers, members of government and corporations that bought into the ideas that the Russians offered and whether knowingly or unknowingly became agents of Russia and a plan against this Nation....all under a nice title called "Making America Great Again"....

17. He'll fire Sessions first
Fri Dec 29, 2017, 08:14 AM
Dec 2017

He'll install someone who'll tell him they'll stop the investigation, and threaten Sessions soon, because he has dirt on Trump, then replace him with a more subservient lapdog to fire Mueller with , then deny he had any involvement with it. Then he'll start picking them off one at a time in the FBI for complete control, and absolute power to promote investigations of Hillary, President Obama, the Bushes, and journalists, protesters, or like Putin's has done. Its obvious he's being controlled. The GOP are so compromised by Putin now don't expect them to stop Trump. They won't, unless some switch over to become Democrats to retake control in the Senate. The GOP are now controlled by a foreign dictator , Putin. Just watch how Putin/Trump are promoting their propaganda , its telling.

"If the gop treats me fairly." He was already at this point in the bargain when he started running. He saw this entire process up front, knowing he'd try to get his base to leave the gop and follow him.

Every choice and statement he's made has been to steal the teabag vote from the gop.

So, it's up to the gop to fight back, and lose some of their support. We still don't know how many he'll steal. If he defies the gop, will they turn on him? That's the gamble.
