I'm to the fucking point where I'm way beyond pissed.

I woke up this morning to realize that I am still struggling with a health problem that I had thought resolved itself.

Then I turned on the TV to morning Joe, and realized that the news has been nothing but the same old fucking bullshit for approximately 1 year. THE SAME OLD FUCKING GARBAGE WHERE EVERYONE KNOWS THERE IS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS ADMINISTRATION, AND YET NOTHING IS DONE.

We are hanging our hats on the results of the Mueller investigation. I'm now starting to realize that Congress will do absolutely nothing to get Trump the fuck out of there, no matter what the results of the investigation are. So, then the only hope will be State charges. We are hanging on by our pubic hairs at this point.

The problem is the United States Congress. The Republicans in Congress are complicit in what will surely be the complete downfall of this country. Because of greed. Fuck them all in the ass with red hot strands of barbed wire.

The generic poll between Democrats and the GOP Shows Democrats with a commanding 13 point lead over the GOP.

Democrats Are Dominating the Generic Ballot. What Does That Mean?
The party’s advantage has ballooned over the last few months, improving its outlook for retaking the House.

By Nate Cohn

Dec. 20, 2017
Despite all the unusual political events of the last few years, one thing in electoral politics is proceeding by the book: the growing Democratic advantage on the generic congressional ballot.

The generic ballot is a poll question that asks voters whether they’ll vote for Democrats or Republicans for Congress, and historically it’s been a decent predictor of the House popular vote. Democrats now lead by over 13 points, according to the FiveThirtyEight generic ballot tracker, after a CNN/SSRS poll on Wednesday gave Democrats a staggering 18-point edge, 56 percent to 38 percent.

A 13-point edge would be similar to or larger than their advantage in 2006, when Democrats won control of both the House and the Senate.

when in the past 35 years have you seen the Democratic Party show some grit & stand up to the R's? And what makes you think they are suddenly going to do that?

The dems are the ones that have been neutered. Thirty-five years of drifting right every time some pundit called the party liberal. Capitulating to the 2000 election theft without a peep. Not questioning the 2004 Ohio election results. Letting a president lie us into a war without any consequences. Gee, I wonder how the GOP got the idea they could do whatever the fuck they want?

Our problem is that we haven't had a true opposition party for over 35 years. We have a few fighters, one less since they kicked Franken to the curb, but as a party, the dems are weak & the GOP knows this. If the dems get any influence again, they will "look forward & work with the other side in the name of healing the nation."

Congress, dem or repub, is not going to do anything.

I don't mean to sound confrontational, but I'm so fucking pissed at the dems & their 40 year milquetoast strategy.

Will they be doing the opposite of what the R's are doing now, no. To me it is a step in the right direction. We will end up with bills that have a shit burger in them to get bi-partisan support, but we won't have bills made entirely of shit burgers.

My bad. I do think protest marches have their place, but one or two major marches a year is not enough. They need to be consistent, like every 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month. But more importantly, they need to be followed up with calls & emails to congress. My non-political friends were outraged last year after the Con's inauguration. They went to the two big marches, & a couple of post card parties, where they signed & mailed preprinted postcards to Ryan, & five months later, they couldn't be bothered to call Cory Gardner about the ACA. When I called congress about the ACA sometimes the lines were busy. When I called for the tax bill, lines were never busy, voice mail boxes were never full. I even got a couple of real people on the line! Someone on MSNBC said that congressional aides said that the calls against the tax bill were significantly less than the calls against the ACA. Maybe a few more calls would have swayed a critical vote or two.

Dec 2017

I feel like I have been on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I have experienced a wide range of emotions, seen my hopes raised, followed by the certain knowledge that my hopes were being dashed on the rocks of reality. I have been misled by people I thought might get some integrity and defend us by using the Constitution as their guide. The people WE ELECT (supposedly) to represent us stand by and allow tRump to carry out Putin’s plan to attack us from within. We see new tactics to weaken us, remove protections and benefit the wealthy get put in place every day. And yet, nothing is being done to stop the madness.

I honestly had hopes earlier this year that tRump’s reign of terror would be short lived. I thought that once his connections to Putin were revealed that he’d be promptly removed by a Congress that would do the right thing. It is obvious now that that won’t happen. He really could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and still retain the Presidency. The Republicans are gonna ride that horse until the nag drops dead. So much for doing the right thing for the country, much less the citizens who ARE the country.

I am tired of playing Charlie Brown to the Congress’ Lucy and the football. We are lured into thinking that finally tRump has gone too far, even for the Republicans. We have a few days of outrage and people rushing to microphones and then it just all dies away. Honestly, I think that is the plan and has been all along. Just wear us down with mind games until we just get too tired to play any more. They have enticed us for nearly a year, making us believe that something would be done.

The remedy we are relying on at this point is Mueller. It is clear that there is still much work to be done to build a good, solid investigation. Sadly, in my estimation, by the time that investigation is completed, it will be far too late. The damage will be done and the U.S. as we know it will be a very different place. Almost unrecognizable. We had a nice run, but we’re done.
