is something like grandfather everyone 50 and older, and screw those under 50, or something like that, betting that those 50 and older will say I got mine, and screw everyone else

That is most likely what we will be up against, and we need to fight the deception directly. For years they have been propagating the lie, with the media's help I might add, that there won't be enough money for Social Security and Medicare, ignoring the fact that they have been stealing from the social security fund to finance wars and other things it wasn't intended for, with no intention of ever paying it back, even though it is OUR money that we have been paying into it.

What never gets discussed is that the short fall is only short term because of the baby boomers, which will be rectified as they move out of the picture, and the easiest way to deal with the short fall is to raise the CAP

Many Democrats have not been vocal enough about this, and the media sure isn't our ally on this, and that has to change.

Anyone who says that social security won't be there for them when they retire, are repeating the republican talking point LIE. This is the game they tried to play when bush was trying persuade people that we should allow people to allow people to put part of their social security into the stock market, and almost succeeded if it wasn't for the stock market and economic implosion.
