Ringo Starr Will Be Knighted,,,,, 🎶

Last edited Mon Dec 25, 2017, 07:49 AM - Edit history (3)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5209915/Ringo-Starr-awarded-knighthood-New-Years-Honours.html

About time, he's a true legend as all the Beatles were ...we are glad we had chance to meet him,,,,,,and lucky to see Paul in concert several times,,,thank-you for the music you gave to the world.

There is never going to be another Beatles. When Paul or Ringo are the last to leave this planet, it will be a worldwide day of mourning. The Beatles really changed the world in the 8 years.........

To bad John and George couldn't be knighted as well.....as they pass on....

Peace and Love

FOR JOHN AND GEORGE ..MISS THEM.....

We saw him this year at his Ringo and All-Starr Band concert. It was a fabulous time, and he is an utterly charming entertainer.

Great drummer too. At 77 years old, he was pounding away on the skins.

Well done, Sir Ringo, and Happy Xmas to you!

I watched a special on PBS a couple of times just about the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album, how incredibly creative it was from start to finish, changing music forever. Fascinating stuff. Whodathunkit?

I wasn't a huge fan in the day, but I have to say they definitely made a huge impact on the entire WORLD.

Of course, I have to wonder if this is part of the New Year's Day honors, and will The Queen actually bop him with a sword. She's over 90. What if she accidentally decapitates him? Or is the sword plastic?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Love Ringo and all The Beatles.

Should be knighted post humous. If they were alive it's obvious that they already would be. My opinion of course. My Sweet Lord by George is one of my all time favorites and My Guitar Gently Weeps has been covered by everyone from Clapton to Toto to Santana.

It was Clapton who played lead on the original(his work there earned him a place in Rolling Stone Book of Lists on the "Five Greatest George Harrison Guitar Solos Not Played by George Harrison" list).

And...

...although he would never have accepted it, I have often amused myself with the thought of 'Lord' Lennon of Liverpool.

The most boring tv on the planet -coverage of the house of lords - would be pay-per-view with JL in session!

Met both Ringo and Paul here in Tucson on different occasions. Paul lived here, and I bumped into him on Fourth Avenue: the beating heart of Tucson's counterculture. Ringo was here on business, and I talked to him in the course of that. Two likable guys.
