Christmas Wishes for the GOP

In the spirit of the season, I want to express my heartfelt best wishes to the Republican party …


I wish you as much joy as there is in the hearts of the people who are about to lose their healthcare coverage.

I wish you as much merriment as there is in the homes of those who are facing the loss of the safety-net programs they rely on to survive.

I wish you as much happiness as there is among those who will be living on less so that you and your wealthy donors can have more.

I wish you as much warmth as exists in the houses of those who can’t afford to heat their homes.

I wish you as much holiday cheer as there is for parents whose sick children will die without CHIP funding.

I wish you as much good food and wine for your Christmas dinner as that of the homeless people you ignore.

I wish you as much gaiety as can be found in the lives of the elderly and infirm as they await your plans to gut social security and Medicaid.

I wish you as many lavishly expensive gifts under the tree as will be found under the trees of those struggling to survive from one paycheck to the next.

I wish you as much elation in being surrounded by family and friends as the elation of those whose family and friends are being deported.

May your holidays be as “merry and bright” as they are for those who don’t know where their next meal is coming from, those who live in constant fear of losing what little they have, those who are dealing with the anxiety of a mentally incompetent “pResident” triggering global warfare, those who know their paychecks will go up by a few dollars a week while their deductions have been whittled-down to nothing, those who recognize that they’ve elected self-serving representatives whose sole interest is representing themselves.

But above all else, I wish for each and every one of you everything that you truly deserve!
