There's something lost in time about Mitt. He looks like the male equivalent of the Stepford Wife. He's someone's twisted ideal of a Republican Presidential candidate, all good hair and even featured and white- except he's Mormon and he won't release enough of his tax returns and he has a mountain of dubious financial transactions and he thinks Russia is the "Number 1 political foe" of the U.S.
He's just such a throwback. He's an anachronism. Of course none of this addresses the weirdest thing about Mitt, which is that he believes in absolutely nothing but his "right" to be the most powerful man on earth. He's changed positions on issues such as choice, civil rights for GLBT folks, health care, public financing of social welfare programs, etc. etc.
I think he's the end of the line for a certain type of republican.
And if, as I suspect, he picks someone like Portman or Pawlenty, I think it's the last ticket like that that we'll see.
Let's fervently hope it's a losing ticket.
U r so right !!!

(12,272 posts)Romney is the Mormon perfect candidate. Well, as close as they have come so far, because the real perfect candidate would win.
