He finally got something he wanted passed by Congress, which will probably pass some sort of Continuing Resolution, too, by the end of the week. But what then? Congress, weary from its labors, will take its own sweet time before doing anything else, as is its pattern.
Meanwhile, the investigation continues, and things are not looking promising for the Dotard in Chief. He will be casting about for something new to occupy the limited minds of his so-called "base." What will he do?
Aha! North Korea! There it is, over there across the Pacific Ocean. Almost completely incapable of defending itself from a global superpower, it's an easy target for people like Trump. It doesn't actually have any weapons with which to attack the United States mainland yet. Plus, as a diversionary item, it's ideal. Trump's been building up support for teaching North Korea a lesson since he took office.
A New Year. Time to do something, Trump thinks. Attacking North Korea is sort of a perfect fit, really. Sure, it will screw up South Korea, too, since Kim Jong Un can attack that nation easily and effectively. His massed artillery and rockets are ready to go, as are countless ground troops who are hungry, exhausted and eager to get something to eat and some rest, one way or another. But, no matter. What has South Korea done for us lately, anyhow, Trump asks...
Watch out! Trump needs to do something. Beware!

(146,325 posts)He thinks he needs to do something, you know, big. Something tremendously historical or something.
But, it has to be simple enough for him to understand. Wars are simple for Presidents. You just say, "Make it so," and the Generals hop to.

(146,325 posts)Nobody really cares about North Korea. It's a boil on the arse of Pacific Asia. It's not worth a global thermonuclear war.
Now, that doesn't mean that the Dotard in Chief won't drop a big one or two on Pyongyang, of course. I mean, he has those weapons, so why can't he use them, he thinks.
It would be a horrible thing and would destroy the United States in the world community. We'd have all trade cut off from everywhere else. That would, quite naturally, lead to economic collapse, since we can no longer support ourselves using internal resources. Trump, of course, cannot think that far ahead and doesn't understand any of that sort of thing.
He does understand, "Boom goes Korea! See what I can do?" though. That's enough for him.
