Myself and a friend of mine were randomly speculating on what if the wrestler the Rock who goes by Dwyane Johnson ran against Trump. Keep in mind we were both joking about this and not taking it seriously. We laughed at how depressing it would be if came down to those two 2020. I then thought about an insult the Rock would use against Trump in a debate. It came to my mind that the Rock would say "Trump has put the country in a slump and I'm the guy to get us over this hump. Vote for me and dump this jabroni chump like a pile of crumbs in the garbage." So just chiming in does anybody have any clever rhymes or insult for Trump in 2020. I thought this could be fun thread.

(14,971 posts)due to prior commitments. He said hes a registered Independent but National Review has written glowing articles about him and stated that he was previously registered as a Republican. If he runs in 2024 , hell be running against a Democrats second term.
the case then he has a good chance of wining the republican nomination in 2024. Knowing these are the same people that have previously nominated entertainers such Reagan and Trump.

(14,971 posts)He told Ellen DeGeneres 2020 and Variety 2024. The guy's a Republican, no matter how he tries to position himself and the clueless GOP base will eat it up. They nominate entertainers because that's the only way they can win anymore.
When pressed on whether he's looking at a 2020 candidacy, Johnson acknowledges that that would "probably be the case."
Interestingly, Johnson suggests in an interview with Variety that he plans to run for the office four years later due to film obligations. "Realistically, as we go into 2018, when you look at my slate as we're developing and shooting into 2019 and 2020, the slate goes deep into 2021, so it feels like the realistic consideration would be 2024," he says.
Though he was previously registered as a Republican and has appeared at the Republican convention to boost voter registration, according to the Washington Post, he tells USA today, "Right now I'm an independent."

(578 posts)win the presidency when they run celebrities. If you think about it in the last 30 plus years 3 out of 4 republican presidents were pretty much celebrities. I viewed Bush 2 as a drunk comedian type of personality. Trump and Reagan were celebrities. Bush Sr was the last generic republican with no personality to be president. Republicans don't win when they run generic personalities. You could also the say the same about Dems considering Jimmy Carter was the last Dem not to have a Hollywood personality.

Doubt he would run, the GOP is toxic and would be toxic to his movie career. He could switch to Dem, but then he alienates a different customer base.
