Bill Nye takes it to the Republicans

Bill Nye has a message for Republicans who continue to obstruct action on climate change:

'The planet's on f****ing fire. There are several options to put out the proverbial fire on Earth. Are any of them free? No, of course not, you idiots. Grow the f*** up. You're adults now.' -- Bill Nye

Support Al: (202) 224-5641

As a woman who has been harassed since I was a young girl, including junior high school teachers, on up to professors in college and on into professional life, I understand this issue from the inside. And I intend to call Al tomorrow morning and tell him I stand by him.

(202) 224-5641

I'm disappointed in him that he thinks such antics are cute, funny or adorable. This kind of unawareness on his part grows out of systemmic patriarchal culture, in general. It's the air we breathe. But his actions don't come from a deep-seated need to have power over a woman.

I'm impressed that he's asking for an investigation of himself.

I'll be no part of drumming this good man, whom we need now more than ever, out of office for this stupid sour joke. Paul Wellstone, his mentor and role model, would agree, I'm sure.

They've Got Theirs. The Hell With the Rest of America. A Call to All Democratic Leaders

The Democrats need to immediately publish the benefits the people in Congress receive in their Heath Care Plan. For life. That they voted for on their own behalf.

To many not-old, healthy people in America this cut to medicaid seems to not effect them. It’s happening “over there”, “far away” to “others”. No. It will come for everyone. Anyone who needs to put a parent in a nursing home. Or who needs to hire a home health aide. Anyone who will someday need a nursing home themselves. Anyone who has an unforeseen health catastrophe.

The Democrats need to immediately push back and push back hard with a Big Solution, and not just with wonky details:

1) Publicize the luxe health care provided for Congress.
2) Publicize the eventual need for Medicaid of every person, in one way or another. NPR reports that one in five Americans depend on Medicaid right now.
3) Launch a huge campaign for Single Payer. Now is the time. Be aggressive. Not defensive.

Seize the moment.

Dick Morris is in talks with Trump and may join his campaign.

Morris and Trump seem a perfect fit to me. Couldn't think of two more ferrety chaps.

But, let's remember how we all first became aware of Mr.Morris.

From wikipedia, bold added:

A friend and adviser to Bill Clinton during his time as Governor of Arkansas, Morris became a political adviser to the White House after Clinton was elected president in 1992. Morris encouraged Clinton to pursue third way policies of triangulation that combined traditional Republican and Democratic proposals, rhetoric, and issues so as to achieve maximum political gain and popularity. He worked as a Republican strategist before joining the Clinton administration, where he helped Clinton recover from the 1994 midterm elections by advising the President to adopt more moderate policies.[7] The president consulted Morris in secret beginning in 1994.[8] Clinton's communications director George Stephanopoulos has said, "Over the course of the first nine months of 1995, no single person had more power over the president."[9] Morris went on to become campaign manager of Bill Clinton's successful 1996 bid for re-election to the office of President. His tenure on that campaign was cut short two months before the election, when it was revealed that he had allowed a prostitute to listen in on conversations with the President.

Wasn't 1996 the year that so many life-long Democrats started to say----the Party is leaving us?

Tour of Bernie and Jane's Home

A glimpse inside and out. More a tour of family photos, and art work done by their talented off-spring. A peak into the music room where there's a drum set!

Non-lavish, friendly, warm, middle class home. Lovely family.

There's even a surprise for Clinton supporters.

Enjoy.

Report from my precinct in New York City

Members of my family have already voted and just phoned in this report from downtown NYC.

Easy to vote. No ID asked for!

However, two people were turned away.

One demanded an affidavit. They had registered as a Democrat and were not on the rolls.

One was turned away because they were in "the wrong polling station" and now had to run to another one, insisting that they had "always voted at the same station" and "had to get to work".

It's true, we did have to vote at a new location this year—after years of voting in the same place. Which did raise questions for us.

Noted was the absence of any information anywhere on the ballot about which delegates support which candidates. This is new. In the past there has been much more information about this. We knew who to vote for because we had gone to a candidate forum. But how many people are involved enough to do that?

At this forum, it was explained that the League of Women Voters usual supplies this kind of information amply and this year—they didn't. Make of that what you will.

FYI—Arthur Schwartz is the Assembly candidate who will become a super delegate for Bernie, should he win.

Look also for:
Allen Roskoff
Tom Duane
Jessica Frisco
Laine Armstrong
Jenine Lurie
All supporters of Bernie.

Would like to hear other people's experience as they vote today.

If you get turned away, here is the phone number for the New York City Board of Elections: 212-886-2100 (Note—that's just for the city and may even be just for downtown.)

Only 20% of New Yorkers vote. That's appalling. Get out there and do it!

CHARLES BARKLEY: ALL POLITICS IS RICH PEOPLE SCREWING POOR PEOPLE

He didn't mince his words.

From the Guardian reported on Raw Story today:

NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley gave his two cents on the presidential race on Tuesday by saying “all politics is rich people screwing poor people” and that “poor people are too stupid to know they’re just chess pieces in a game”.

Barkley said he wasn’t exactly thrilled by the Democratic party – “I’ve always voted Democratic. Always. I don’t know why. I’m trying to figure out exactly what they’ve done for us” – but he saved most of his ire for the Republican party, claiming that the party was exploiting ordinary Americans’ fears about race and immigration – and doing a great job of it.

“The Republicans always do a good job of dividing and conquering. They do a really good job of making black folks, poor white folks and Hispanics not like each other. Everybody wants to talk about black and white, when the situation is really about rich people against poor people.

This is why I've never understood how there's a separation between Bernie's economic justice policy and the fight for social justice.

It was Martin Luther King who summed this up when he said this is why he started his Poor People's Campaign:

"The VietNam War is about sending poor White children and poor Black children and poor Brown children to go kill poor Yellow children".

Alan Grayson is a Super Delegate.

He's inviting all of us to vote in his on-line poll for Bernie or HRC.

He says that he, as a super delegate, will cast his electoral vote for which ever candidate wins.

There's a space for you to make a short statement about your vote.

He says he's doing it to be a better super delegate who is guided by actual, regular people.

Suggest you all go over there and vote.
