benz380's JournalChapel Hill killer called towing company so many times they banned him.
The man accused of shooting three Muslims at a Chapel Hill condominium had neighbors' cars removed so often that he was eventually banned from using the towing company, according to a driver who often tows vehicles from the complex.
"It was often more than the average person," Christopher Lafreniere, with Barnes Towing, said Thursday. "It actually got to the point that he was not allowed to call a car in. If he called, we wouldnt go out."
Neighbors have said Craig Stephen Hicks, charged with three counts of first-degree murder, always appeared to be combative and angry about the parking situation at Finley Forest, where residents are allotted one reserved spot.

Just talked to my Staples delivery driver. He said the drivers were all losing their jobs.
After Staples and Office depot merge, he told me that a 3rd party courier service was going to be used. He said a lot of the drivers are going to try and get on with the courier service.
Goldman Sachs CEO Key Investor in Hillary's Son-In-Law's Hedge Fund
The Wall Street Journal has a revealing report on the hedge fund Eaglevale Partners LP, which is run by Hillary Clinton's son-in-law, Marc Mezvinsky. The fund, it turns out, bet big on a turnaround in the Greece economy -- and lost.
"Eaglevale Partners LP, founded by Marc Mezvinsky and two former colleagues from Goldman Sachs Group Inc., told investors in a letter sent last week they had been 'incorrect' on Greece, helping produce losses for the firms main fund during two of the past three years, according to the letter. Mr. Mezvinsky married Chelsea Clinton, the former first daughter, in 2010," reports the Journal.
"The main fund dropped 3.6% last year, far trailing the 5.7% rise for similar hedge funds tracked by HFR Inc.

Borderlands Books in SF announces closure, cites minimum wage increase
When San Francisco voters approved a minimum wage increase in the November election, Mayor Ed Lee sent what he called a loud and clear message to the nation: We can give a well-deserved raise to our lowest-wage workers, and we can do it in a way that protects jobs and small business.
Yet a month after the initial phase of the increase took effect, Borderlands Books became the first business Sunday to cite The Citys higher minimum wage as the catalyst for its closure.
The Valencia Street bookstore expects to clear its shelves and lay off employees by the end of March after struggling to compete with online book sales and a national shift to electronic readers, owner Alan Beatts said.

FBI now investigating hanging death of teen that was ruled suicide. This happened in August.
Lead investigator told the medical examiner he thought it was a suicide, so the ME listed it as such. Shoddy investigation.
No photos were taken at the scene because the crime techs with the camera were on another case. Don't they have more than one camera? http://www.wral.com/report-raises-issues-about-probe-of-teen-s-hanging-death/14208372/
RALEIGH, N.C. FBI investigators plan to look into the hanging death of a 17-year-old in Bladen County that local authorities ruled a suicide.
Lennon Lee Lacy was found last summer hanging from a noose on a swing set in Bladenboro. Family members and the NAACP have called his death a "race-based homicide" and asked for a federal investigation, saying local authorities rushed to reach a conclusion and did not fully investigate the case.

Another person of color killed by the police yesterday in my area.
(I posted this in General Discussion but there are no comments and I don't want it to fall through the cracks)
SANFORD, N.C. A man died Wednesday afternoon after he was shot by a Sanford police officer inside a home in the 600 block of Magnolia Street.
Family members identified the victim as Travis Faison, 24.
For hours after the mid-afternoon shooting, relatives stood outside police crime scene tape awaiting any information from authorities.
"They are trying to keep it down, because the police did it," said Tyrone Bell, a cousin.
