TV series you're watching on Netflix Instant.
Highlander -- I'm up to Season 5, Ep 11. Only 1-1/2 seasons to go.

Legend of the Seeker -- watched both seasons, seriously peeved that that's the end.

Sarah Connor Chronicles -- watched both seasons, ditto to Seeker.

Lost is all out there for me, as well as Xena. Yay.

1. Before I left the US, I was doing a 'Dexter' marathon and had just
finished season 2. Before that I watched all 14 series of 'A Touch of Frost' and before that all 7 series of MI5 (Spooks).

The best I've seen to date are 'Blood on the Wire' and 'Torchwood'.

But I'm on Vancouver Island for a few months and only have access to satellite internet here - too slow to even stream radio!

God, I miss my Netflix

3. Loved MI-5!
Like a crack habit...once you start watching them, you can't stop. Very weird, though, one season (5?) isn't streaming, so I have to get the CD. Same with '24'...very similar to MI-5, but a lot more firepower.

2. A Wire in the Blood right now.
I finished up the first two seasons of Dexter, season one of The Mentalist and watched about two seasons of Lie to Me but it was getting old.

The Dresden Files was fantastic.

Highlander is available on Netflix Instant? :woohoo:
I'm starting on that tonight as soon as I finish up my work. I've always wanted to watch that but jumping into the middle I was a bit bewildered.

In that peculiar way. So did the dude from Mentalist (not streaming though)

I would like to see a good new mind-bender investigation show like Wire in the Blood.

4. So glad to see this post, as I love a good series.
I just watched the first two seasons of The Tudors, and loved it. Hoping that season three is streaming soon.

My husband adores MI5, so will start that this week and check out some of the others mentioned here.

5. I seem to be caught up on my favorites
I regularly watch:
Dexter (the season 4 ender was probably the best end of season I've ever seen)

MI5 (Love it. Season 8 is in my queue. Season 5 is a puzzler. I addressed the problem in another post.)

Bones (Predictable, but I love the characters.)

Lie to me (I like it, but Tim Roth gets to be a bit much after a while.)

The Tudors (I didn't expect to like this, but I was pleasantly surprised. Season 3 is in my queue.)

The Mrs Bradley Mysteries (Diana Rigg–what's not to like? But there is a problem playing anything beyond the pilot. I'm still hopeful, but....)

Spartacus: Blood and Sand (Brought to you by the Xena dream team–see below. Unfortunately Andy Whitfield, who plays Spartacus, got cancer and season 2 is questionable. They are doing a 6 episode prequel due to air on Starz and Netflix instant January 21st.

Old series:
Xena (Okay, don't get me started. I absolutely love this ground-breaking TV show. I own all 6 seasons–22 episodes each–and watch them over and over. Great acting, directing and writing. Note: I could never get into Hercules.)

Legend of the Seeker (I liked it, especially after they introduced the hot blonde in red leather, but I think 2 seasons was about its limit without getting boring. You have to know when to quit.)

6. here's my list-so far
Don't you just love being free from all the asinine commercials...and the cost of cable?

Weeds -5 seasons

Dead like Me -2 seasons

Eureka -watched 3 seasons on instant and just found new season episodes at website

Heros -just started season 3

This place is shaping up to be a great forum! Netflix and DU, it doesn't get much better, lol. Thanks, all!!!

I've saving up for a Roku, since getting a fancy-dancy flat screen TV & Wii is still not doable finance-wise. :)

9. Missing - 3 seasons available on Instant watch
Edited on Sat Jan-08-11 01:36 PM by Speck Tater
I'm on season 2 and enjoying it. A young girl (played by Caterina Scorsone) is struck by lightning and suddenly starts having "visions" about missing people. She is hired by the FBI as a special consultant and uses her visions to help solve missing person cases.

The premise sounds hokey, but the show is really very good. The girl is not your typical "psychic", and her free-wheeling style makes the show a lot of fun.

season 1: http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Missing_Season_1/70132131?trkid=1457043
season 2: http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Missing_Season_2/70043599?trkid=496624
season 3: http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Missing_Season_3/70132168?trkid=1457044

ON EDIT:

An oldy but a goody that I missed when it first appeared on TV is JAG. 10 seasons. Lots of fun, especially for NCIS fans, since NCIS was a season 8 spin-off from JAG. Only available on DVD so far.

17. I may be in the minority, but I was not nearly as disappointed with S3 as it seems
a lot of people were. There were some jarring cast changes to be sure, and at least one character that didn't seem to add much, but it seemed to bump up to a darker and deeper story toward the end. And Richard Armitage absolutely carried it (they should have renamed S3 to 'Guy of Gisbourne' :) )...

14. Just finished ALL of Battlestar Galactica
I led into it watching Caprica on Hulu. Then had to get the opening mini-series mailed. From there on it was instant watching. If you have watched the entire series "The Plan" is interesting because it basically shows the series from the enemies point of view. Awesome show :)

Watching Jeremiah: Season 2 now. I got turned on to it after watching Survivors (Brit post-virus series)

I guess of all the series I've watched Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Doc Martin, Spartacus Blood and Sand, Monarch of the Glen, and Wire in the Blood were my favorites. Prolly more, but these stick out :D

25. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but
I didn't like BSG. I watched it only because Lucy Lawless was in it. I will grant you the woman who played Caprica did a great job, but other than Lucy, the cast left me cold. Continuous hand held camera and bad lighting didn't help either. There's a time for hand held, but not 24/7. I thought the writing sucked, too, especially the last episode. Did I mention I didn't like this show? :)

27. That was sorta how I felt
When it first came on. I even tried catching shows occasionaly to "get into" it.

When Caprica got killed 3/4 way into the season even though they already had produced the shows, I retaliated by watching the season to the end elsewhere. Out of simple curiosity I wanted to see if the BSG series was any good. I wasn't real impressed at first but got drawn into what's next and it was snowing.

That's what I dig about Netflix.

:D

Psych: Season 1
2006TV-PG 4 discs / 15 episodes

They may look like a psychic detective agency, but don't be fooled: Motormouth Shawn (James Roday) is just a super-observant slacker, and his ultra-cool sidekick (Dulé Hill) is just Shawn's old pal Gus. But together, the funny detective duo somehow solves crimes. This quirky comedy-mystery series set in the sun-drenched streets of Santa Barbara, Calif., also stars Corbin Bernsen as Shawn's cranky cop dad and Kirsten Nelson as chief of police.

Cast:
James Roday, Corbin Bernsen, Kirsten Nelson, Maggie Lawson, Dulé Hill, Timothy Omundson
Creator:
Steve Franks
Genres:
Television, TV Dramedy, TV Mysteries, TV Comedies, TV Dramas
This show is:
Quirky, Suspenseful, Witty

There are 4 seasons to watch, which is nice being able to see one episode after another.

If you like it, the show went on for seven seasons, the seventh a complete waste because the creator had been fired and another guy stepped in. He didn't have the magic touch.
