'Donald Trump, who sat there stone-faced, his melon-colored hair glinting obscenely....'
from the Village Voice:

Watch: http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/2011/05/obama_buries_ha.php

Last night at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, President Obama absolutely eviscerated Donald Trump, who sat there stone-faced, his melon-colored hair glinting obscenely as the president leveled zinger after zinger at him. In short, it was awesome. Obama also laid into Michele Bachmann, Tim Pawlenty, Mitt Romney, Fox News -- the whole gang, really. Even Joe Biden wasn't safe, lampooned in a fake trailer for "The President's Speech."

Obama on Trump:

Donald Trump is here tonight. Now, I know that he's taken some flak lately, but no one is prouder to put this birth certificate to rest than The Donald. Now he can get to focusing on the issues that matter. Like, did we fake the moon landing? What really happened at Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?

And then he brought up Celebrity Apprentice, and we can all die happy.

But why was Donald "Hair Club For Men" Trump there, anyway? "I was invited. By a lot of people," he told ABC News. Really, he was a guest of the Washington Post. They have a sick sense of humor! Good work. .............(more)

3. I thought the President was typically moderate, compared to what could have been said, & it was
Trump whose reaction was definitely abnormal.

4. The stuff that was said about Trump was no more extreme than that which was said about anyone else
there last night.

5. It's all just a side show. We get po'd at Trump and anti-Americans, our side tells some jokie-jokes
Edited on Sun May-01-11 11:32 AM by nc4bo
sling a few zingers, we all cheer.

At the end of the night nothing changes. At the beginning of each day these people go to work and bullshit their respective parties and at the end of the day, nothing changes. We go through this BS day in, day out until terms end and then they pull out all the stops and it becomes the Greatest Show on Earth.

It's a side show, freak show, game, WWE wrestling match, now what.

We are still suckers and I am beyond tired of it.

15. That annual dinner is what it is. It has never been a game-changing event.
Why sound so disappointed because the dinner/jokes won't change anything?

It never does, and was never meant to.

Gawd some people just wanna bitch and moan.

Obama cracks a joke... bitch and moan.

Obama has the annual Easter Egg Hunt... bitch and moan.

Obama lights the WH Christmas tree... bitch and moan.

How tiresome.

8. For the first time in a long time,
I have ever enjoyed humor so much as last night.

Obama was awesome.

Seth Meyers --- well, I thought his delivery was great, and he got in some really good jabs. I played the part 2 of his video twice last night before crashing, because it made me roll in laughter.

24. Well...when one's claim to fame is a reality game show and your name on every building,
a teleprompter would be needed for what purpose exactly?
