I Loved Taking the Bus Today!!
Here is my post from yesterday:

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/RockaFowler/31

I got here at 7:30am and I was able to get a few things done before my day officially starts. I also gave the information to the newsroom. And it looks like they are gonna do a story on the Mass Transit system here in South Florida. This particular bus did not start going to Martin County until 2 years ago. Not many people know about it, but I think after this story airs, more people will.

Oh yeah and it's a hybrid bus that is beyond confortable. I'm also so calm. I have no I-95 stress. It's is so incredible! Can't wait to take it home tonight!!

Thanks for all of the good wishes yesterday.

2. I used to take the train into NYC from Connecticut when I worked in the city.
Much better than having to deal with the traffic going in and out of the city.

And they have a bar car in the evening!!

6. A few tips
1) Always be early at the stop. Sometimes the driver doesn't wait for the strays. Missing a bus can be quite troublesome.

2) Bring sunglasses just in case you begin encounter creepy people. Avoiding eye contact is an excellent way to remain creep free.

3) Try not to sit in the front seats - those are for disabled people, pregnant women and the elderly.

8. Thanks

There were only 5 people on the bus. I heard the 7am bus gets more people. I may stick to the 6:30am one!!

10. Perosnally, I love the early bus. Peace and quiet.
I can usually catch a few winks as well.

Cheers to you. :)

9. I'm in my 3rd month of bus to metro
DC Area, I live in Frederick, the last bus (7:30) is packed every morning. (These are coaches, not regular city buses) I've not seen a day that there wasn't at least one standee and many mornings there are at least 10, the most I've counted is 19.

Even so it *still* beats sitting in traffic behind the wheel, and is much cheaper than driving and paying to park. Parking alone where I work runs about $140/mo, the Bus/metro is $220/mo.

11. I like the bus also. And the train, any public transportation. Why
complain about the price of gas?
People think they must own/use a car. They do not need to.
And many times when I have taken the bus or train, it has been full, or nearly full.

15. I'm glad it all worked out
And I bet the bus driver was happy to see a new rider, too.
