With all of the MASSIVE problems we are faced with, why do we
focus on this birther bullshit. It's totally irrelevant.

2. It is only relevant as styles of distraction.

It is a learning point on that, and should be discussed in that context.

I would also guess there is a topic about how some in positions get different information on TV and Internet, and would presumed that is used on that topic also.

3. Weapon of Mass Distraction
Keeps everyone focussed on Trump, so that the Republican's aren't blamed for the economy and ultra-conservative social problems. Gives the racists something satisfying, too.

8. All issues that aren't related to revolutionizing the economic system should be shelved.
Eradicate the disease. The symptoms will follow.

15. Because
The trend is for the left to point at the right and say, "Those guys are crazy. Therefore we must be sane."

Then the media outlets who consider the left their audience give them more of what they want.

This feeds more finger-pointing at the crazies. Which in turn prompts more media coverage.

Round and round.

Here is a little thought. Stop posting about those guys. Start posting about better ideas.

Trouble is, since Obama is a corporate puppet it's hard for the left to hang their hat on anything.

Obama use the bully pulpit to push for single payer? Nope. He said there wasn't enough political capital.

Reduce military presence overseas? Nope. Increased it.

Closed Gitmo? Nope.

Ended Bush's tax cuts for the rich? Nope. Extended them.

You see. When the leader of the democratic party has done these things you can no longer say your party is the party of better ideas. Instead, you have to identify yourself by what you are not.

The birther issue maintains because it gives democrats something to point to and say we are not that.

Medicare for all. Zero discrimination policy for all people. No wars. Tax those who exploit the labor of others fir their own gain. Equal and free access to quality education. Renewable energy.

These are the things we should be talking about.
