2. We already have had an eighty foot eucalyptus
come crashing down in the pasture behind us. It didn't hit anything, but there are trees that are closer to our buildings and we are keeping our fingers crossed. The shallow rooted trees are loosened by the rain soaking we got and the high winds just knock them over with no problem.

11. A few flakes here in north Phoenix, ice cold, ultra-strong winds.
It wouldn't phase a Chicagoan, but I'm almost an AZ native and it's hard to cope--and the winds make it very hard to drive.

However, tucked away in my nest--and thanks for the concern (sincerely!)!

8. South Central NM

4:54 p.m. 28 degrees at 7,000 ft. where we live. Blizzard conditions earlier today. Has let up now but snow still coming down.

Time to light up a roaring fire in the wood stove, fixing to fix a green chili stew for internal heating. :-)

9. Our first major snow in Denver.... Nice though...
and supposed to stop well before tomorrow night, so there still might be a "safe" way to go out for New Years... I wasn't planning to drink much anyway.

We shall see...
