WTF is this "Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman" on my teevee screen?
Non-game shots, the ones going to and returning from ad breaks, of the White House, various DC war memorials, anything glorifying war.

So I googled it.

Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman

The Military Bowl (fully named Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman, previously known as the EagleBank Bowl and known in planning stages as the Congressional Bowl) is an annual college football bowl game first played on December 20, 2008 at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium<2> in Washington, D.C.. The game was originally sponsored by Washington-area financial institution EagleBank. After Northrop Grumman, one of the world's leading defense contractors, became its sponsor in 2010, it was renamed the Military Bowl. <3>

3. It's funny to see all the things we criticized the USSR for being used by our government now.
Control of the media and stories released to it, worship of the military, propagandized names for government agencies and military actions...

We used to condemn the Soviets for their military parades in Red Square. Now our media is encouraged to create a cult around the military at every possible occasion. I realize we always used propaganda and the media for such purposes, but it just seems more naked now.

4. Same theory as the old Liberty Bowl
A low bid from a conference (ACC in this case, SEC in the former Liberty Bowl's case) and has to offer a bid to an eligible service academy if there is one.

And, considering the product being sold, it's going to take a LOT of advertising to achieve customer goals.
