Union rally in Chicago
More than 5,000 Union members from 3 states attended a rally at Daley Plaza in downtown Chicago to show their solidarity in the midst of what they say is an increasing attack on both the working class, and the unions abilities to collectively bargain.

Participants say that both state governments and the private sector in the United State are to blame for eroding the standard of living of the working class.

Today's rally was attended by Wisconsin public workers who were stripped of collective bargaining rights under the controversial budget repair bill governor Scott Walkers Budget Repair Bill, that bill caused 14 senators in that state to flee to Illinois in order to avoid voting on the bill, one of those senators, Chris Larson had this to say.

many of the participants I spoke with said that the lessons to be learned with the spirit of this rally is that what's happening in Madison Wisconsin will not be tolerated here in Chicago, and that Chicago remains a strong union city.

The president of the Wisconsin Firefighter Union likened the state of Labor in the United States to a house on fire.

Many workers who attended said that as long as collective bargaining
is targeted, they will continue to show their solidarity and continue
their fight.
