Poll: PBS is the most trusted name in TV news as Fox plummets. The price of being O'Keefe'd
By John Amato

A poll gauging public trust in TV news has found that PBS is the most trusted name in news, while trust in Fox News has dropped significantly.

According to a survey from Public Policy Polling, "a year ago a plurality of Americans said they trusted Fox News. Now a plurality of them don't."

In a survey taken a year ago, PPP found that Fox was the most trusted news network, with 49 percent saying they trusted the network, and 37 percent saying they did not. In the new poll, 42 percent said they trusted the network while 46 percent disagreed.

The new reigning champion is PBS, which was not included in last year's inaugural poll The public broadcaster was found to be trusted by 50 percent of respondents, and distrusted by 30 percent -- the closest any news network has come to gaining the trust of a majority of Americans.

1. Hence the attempt to defund PBS
can't have too much truth running around rampant out there.

3. That cuts to the heart of it....very true.
That's the essence of why PBS is being attacked by the right.

2. Just goes to show...everyone eventually gets sick of eating dog shit
daily. Even if Foxnews viewership tanks, it will still be kept on the air as it is a useful tool in the GOPukers overall plans.

4. They failed on NAFTA but aside from MSNBC...
in the PM, PBS is it.

Comcast has eliminated news here. Al Jazera, Grit TV, Thom Hartmann, and Democracy Now - all withering on Public Access channel with their underfunding and poor infrastructure as a result.

6. And BBC America News is moving to PBS because??
It's so good that my 60 minute BBC America News is going to be condensed to 30 minutes and shown on PBS instead. :puke:

12. Another poll, another lie, don't trust it.
I love how polls don't elaborate on how many of the people are Dems, Reps, or Independents. I bet there was
was a huge drop in Republicans polled, thus the drop for Fox news.

15. Truth and the arts are a very dangerous combination,
art and music have inspired movements, we cannot allow that.

:sarcasm: (for the non-PBS watching lurkers.)
