This jailbird is going to sing: Displays of affection are generally frowned upon at Pollsmoor Prison in Cape Town, South Africa, but certain prisoners are permitted to kiss their parrots. Under the prison's Correctional Bird Project, about a dozen inmates are given the privilege of raising chicks until they're old enough to be sold as pets. To enter the program, inmates must sever any gang ties and refrain from smoking, swearing and drugs.
