Cities bleed as states cut aid
The state budget squeeze is fast becoming a city budget squeeze, as struggling states across the country plan deep cuts in aid to cities and local governments that will almost certainly result in more service cuts, layoffs and local tax increases.

The cuts are widespread. Ohio plans to slash aid to Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and other cities and local governments by more than a half-billion dollars over the next two years under the budget proposed by its new Republican governor, John Kasich. Nebraska passed a law this month eliminating direct state aid to Omaha and other municipalities. The governors of Wisconsin and Michigan have called for sending less money to Milwaukee, Detroit and other local governments.

Obama said "starve the cities to death" and they teabaggers sprung into action to do Obama's bidding!

6. What exactly can Obama do about these measures?
Do you want a president constantly interjecting themselves into state-level politics?

4. Not only do they cut state aid to cities, they won't allow cities to raise property taxes
to help pay for the shortfalls even if the citizens want to do it. Walker and his Republican cohorts are on their way to destroying Wisconsin.

9. See - we could end all this if we tax the rich and corporate profits.
