"Quality of Life for the Masses"
Edited on Tue Mar-22-11 10:34 PM by lostnfound
The ignored sum in every big-capital decision.

So..if you were moderately wealthy and going on vacation to some mountain resort with rustic charm,
To enjoy the fresh air and outdoors, what price might you be willing to pay per day?

If someone told you that they would pay you some money on the condition that you must spend the next 30 days indoors, you AND your children --
How much per day would they have to pay to make it worth your while?
What if it meant giving up your daily run?
What price tag would you put on the outdoors?

Would you give up the outdoors for $50 a day? $20? The garden that your wife and small child were growing?
The daily walk with your dog? If you spent an extra $100,000 to buy this house just because "it had a nice yard"?

When these things are taken away from a couple hundred thousand people, who pays them for the reduced quality of their life? Who
makes them whole?

When fruits and vegetables for an entire country suddenly cost 30percent more...
Who pays?

Let us consider, The masses and their uncountable losses.

Once upon a time, a rich man and a poor man had different degrees of comfort inside their homes.
But whether rich or poor, they had access to the great beautiful outdoors. Either could go picking blueberries or witnessing a flock of birds take
to the sky. When a rich man loses one giant thing, like his
Beach house in Malibu, maybe he can recover it. But when 200,000 ordinary people lose the
freedom to go outside, no one pays. The value of outdoor time or your morning jog or your kid's bicycle ride is zero.

It is evil to diminish someone's life carelessly. Such costs must be held as "incalculable" because they are precious and not fungible, not convertible to cash.
