John Kasich wants to sell Ohio's State Stores to a Co. that he is the head of?
Edited on Tue Mar-22-11 10:13 PM by Botany
Thank you Ed Schultz for running this story!

So if I got this right Governor John Kasich wants to sell the licenses to Ohio's State Stores ....
a franchise that made the State of Ohio 228 million dollars last year to the newly
formed "Jobs Ohio" company which replaced Ohio's Dept. of Development and John
Kasich is the head of the newly formed "Jobs Ohio" and he has a former buddy from
the now bankrupt Lehmann Brothers running "Jobs Ohio" for $1.00/year "in order to
help with unemployment in Ohio" through the private sector. But it gets better "Jobs Ohio"
does not have the money to buy the State Store's Liquor Licenses so they are going to get
that money by selling the rights to buy shares in a sure money maker, aka the booze business
in Ohio, to Kasich's old buddies on Wall Street.

I have personally known John Kasich for 20 years and although he has always been nice
to me I knew the minute he got in to the Governor's Office he would loot every last nickel
and sell public assets for pennies on the dollar. He helped Lehman Brothers get $480
million of Ohio pension funds when he worked there before they went belly up.*

If you don't understand what I have posted .... please let me know .... i know it is poorly written
and I have a hard time wrapping my brain around all the chicanery.

the Ohio Dept. of Corrections and he want to take the prison system private ....
wanna guess what company will get the bid to run Ohio's prisons?

4. This is my worry for Michigan. The selling off of our assets.
All in the name of an emergency fiscal crisis.

I am very worried about the damage these crooks will do before we can stop them.

8. Oh you people in Michigan .... so quaint why not sell your State Parks
for pennies on the $.

After all when the parks are public anybody can go to them but in private hands then only
"the right people" will be able to go.

10. ALEC is behind this -- Kasich is a longtime member -- and they do have parks in mind, too.

The two most common and effective ways of extracting
value from government assets are asset divestiture (the
outright sale of government land or assets) and asset
leases (long-term leases of public assets to private sector
investor-operators). Government asset sales and leases
can take a variety of forms. In some cases, government
entities sell real property outright, in either an “as is”
or “entitled” state (having secured necessary zoning ap-
proval). In other cases, these transactions are established
as a long-term lease agreement or concession, particu-
larly for revenue-generating enterprises like a golf course,
toll road, or parking facility. In still other cases, such as
government-owned buildings, approaches include sale-
leasebacks, where the private sector purchases the prop-
erty for a fixed price and agrees to lease back the facility
to the government entity for an agreed upon period of
time. Importantly, the government entity can receive a
lump-sum cash payment in all three scenarios.

-snip-

Incentivize quick identification and disposal. State
officials should develop a system to disburse some
portion of the proceeds from real property and
asset sales to programs and departments, provid-
ing an incentive for those departments to partici-
pate in the divesture process. Agencies that iden-
tify assets for divestiture should benefit from those
sales. For example, the department that operated
the surplus property (parks, etc.) should be given a
“commission” for helping identify unneeded prop-
erty—perhaps 10 percent of proceeds—which
could be used for needed capital upgrades or other
purposes. As it stands, departments have few incen-
tives to seek divestiture opportunities because
they receive none of the benefits of surplus sales.

21. With no recall law,
. . . no chance for impeachment since Republicans also control the state legislature,
. . . and with more than a few million Ohio voters who share the same Fauxized brain,

. . . sorry to say, but he pretty much IS. At least for the next four years, anyway.

12. Now THIS is something Kucinich should be speaking about on TV
He should be loudly supporting the unions and speaking of this often.

Kucinich should be down at the court house leading rallies, firing up the people, using his money supporting protesters, buying them pizza, being a leader (*instead of asking people to give him money to support impeachment of Obama)

I really can't do justice in my posting to just what s f***ing scam he is running.

Next up; Wall Street to buy Hocking Hills State Park land for pennies on the dollar.

Kasich is like Walker of Wisconsin but smarter.

I don't put it past him.

My brother got on my case yesterday for paying too close attention to what is going on in the world. I told him (great job no kids) this country was head to be the first to surrender their freedom because it's citizens were too self absorbed in their own lives.
