1. I'm glad they're being proactive.
Flooding is no joke, even here, where we are normally so dry.

5. I'm in the area. It's almost eerie how quiet it is now - rain is falling gently.
It just absolutely ROARED on my roof for about 21 hours.

6. Same here in West L.A. It was such a hard rain for hours and hours that we could hear

it over the TV and all the college kids downstairs.

And a lot of our streets were already closed down for the LA Marathon. Sheesh, what a mess. LOTS of flash flood watches still in effect throughout the Santa Monica Mountains area.

One thing to watch for especially on the curvy roads (like Sunset Blvd) - BE CAREFUL in the slow lane (nearest to the curb). Our streets are so poorly maintained that there WILL be brand new potholes all over the place that will be carved into the streets, especially along the edges near the curbs. That always happens after a lot of rain. The concrete and asphalt are so cracked and compromised from all the weight of traffic hour after hour and day after day and week after week that as soon as there's a lot of water, many of those cracks get opened up all the way. Gonna be a bigger mess to come - and very rough on wheels and axles.

10. It's Mike's band - everybody but Ted the bass player.
And their roadie, their sound guy, and assorted girlfriends. And various video games and Harry Potter. And the pizza delivery. And the dog.

And yes, with all that going on, we could STILL hear the rain on the roof!
