What kind of country cuts food aid to hungry pregnant women and children in the middle of $$ Crisis?
Seriously. WTF?!

The Republicans are winning the battle over the budget, hands down, even though what they're fighting for is, put simply, immoral. A cut of at least $400 million from a crucial program that puts food on the table for pregnant women and small children. Crippling the EPA. Completely eliminating funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, AmeriCorps, and high-speed rail.1

Instead of creating jobs, the Republican budget would destroy 700,000 of them. Our only hope is a public outcry strong enough to stiffen Democrats' spines and cause Republicans to back down.

Sign our petition to Congress and the president, asking them to say "no" to these brutal cuts.

The petition says: "Cutting food aid to hungry women and children in the middle of an economic crisis is wrong. Please oppose the devastating cuts in the Republican budget."

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support our work? We're entirely funded by our 5 million members—no corporate contributions, no big checks from CEOs. And our tiny staff ensures that small contributions go a long way. Chip in here.

The taking can't stop now... it's pathological. They are addicted to taking. They must be, or they'd leave the babies alone.

11. Obama's common ground
Obama thinks starving women, children and working people is good policy for the sake of bipartisanship. Ok, I'm being a bit sarcastic, but the results of his endless groveling to the Rethuglicans makes my first statement true. He simply can't make hard choices, so he allows others to do his dirty work.

12. Repeat after me - "If you are poor, it is your own fault
Get off your butt and work."

"If you are a single mom, it is your own fault. You should have kept your legs crossed, and once the baby came, you should have done more to keep your man."

"If you have no health insurance, it is your own fault. First, doctor bills wouldn't be so high if we just got rid of health insurance."

"The government cannot help the poor, because the government can do nothing right. With the sole exception of our armed forces, every government entity is exactly like the post office and the DMV --slothful, wasteful, and inefficient. We would all be better off if churches ran the schools and performed all social services. We would be better served if private entities managd our roads, prisons, police departments, and fire departments."

These are the things these idiots take as articles of faith.

Seriously, a few of us have been trying to sound the alarm for years now.. have begged people to take action.

All of this is a result of lack of attention, and refusal to be proactive.
