Libya and the situation there just isn't sexy, most Americans probably couldn't find it on a map to begin with. The American public have had enough of wars with Iraq and Afghanistan by now. It will be a very tough sell for them to accept another one. And its hard to paint Quaddaffi as a super villain because he has been around for so long. Uncomfortable basic questions arise such as why is he so evil and important to get rid of now, but wasn't before in the last 30 years? In fact, the united states was praising him just a short few years ago and took Libya off of the state terrorism list.
The only way I see this working is if some kind of provocative incident is staged, such as a terrorist attack from al queda on a US middle east base, and then give false but solid looking evidence to connect Quadaffi with it. Otherwise its looking like the war cheerleaders will be disappointed if they hope for real full bore US war action there.
