A bit of warning about tonight in the US
Edited on Thu Mar-17-11 06:12 AM by underpants
It is of course St. Patrick's Day

It is also the first full day of the NCAA Tournament
Games start at noon and run until at least midnight

Be careful out there.

BTW- this is funny - you can create a "Doctor's note" at Hooters' site

1. OMG! I think they've already started drinking.
I just came home from taking my daughter and her project to school. I almost plowed into someone who didn't observe the yield when she was trying to cross the road I was on. At 50mph, that wouldn't have been pretty. I honestly think she was trying to beat the bus that was next to me. Maybe that was the one she had to catch (she went into the park and ride). If someone had been in the lane next to me, I wouldn't be typing this now. My daughter was so shaken up. Thank goodness I drove this morning instead of letting her drive. Then in the parking lot, a mom just kept coming and almost t-boned me. I was parked at the curb to drop off.

So "yes" everybody, be VERY careful out there!

7. I've had more close calls in the last month than I think I've had in a year.
Every single time the other car would have been at fault and the idiot driver was either talking, dialing or texting on a mobile. I swear people get behind the wheel of a car and instantly lose 50 IQ points. (Sadly, probably me included)

2. St. Pat's Day...
...Cinco de Mayo, New Year's Eve...just another bunch of amateur idiots on the roads chased by cops with dollar signs in their eyes. "Ooooh, looky here, another idiot we can get a shitload of "fines" and other court costs from!"

5. Thank heavens for internet radio
Gotta remember to turn it on at 1PM. I guess I should be careful driving to lunch from work here in Lexington, KY - people would have to start getting drunk for the game around that time! :toast:

9. Yes
You ALWAYS have to root for Notre Dame

I was indoctrinated by the highlight show back in the day "With the score remaining the same we move on to action in the third quarter..."

I actually have two TWO high school photos on record in ND t-shrits. I clearly didn't know it was picture day.
