Ohioans Having Incredible Buyers Remorse Over Gov. Kasich
Source: TPM

Just a few months into his first term, Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) appears to be immensely unpopular with his constituents, a clear majority of whom disapprove of his job performance, according to a PPP poll of registered voters. What's more, if a do-over election were held today Kasich would lose -- by a resounding 15-point margin.

Kasich barely defeated incumbent Gov. Ted Strickland (D) last November, winning by a slim 49% to 47%. But if they could do it all over again, 55% of voters now say they would vote for Strickland, while only 40% say they'd go with Kasich.

40. So true --
I think they are getting even more vicious -- or setting them loose to be

even more vicious? T-BAGGERS scare me because I see them as an effort to

move political debate into more aggresive area -- more hate -- less debate

and discussion -- less truth heard. And, also, spitting on members of Congress

and the way they busted up the Dem Town Meetings seem to point to more stuff

bordering on violence -- recall one there with a rifle over his shoulder?

Wasn't there another with a gun in his boots?

34. I'd question every election back to Nixon/Humphrey ... that's when the computers began to come in...
You might be interested in this --

LARGE computers used by MSM came in during mid-1960's ...

Voting computers in late 1960's --

In Florida two journalists began an investigation in late 60's due to pecular

results from the computer voting with no backing for results --

The book is still around for like $3 here and there --

but you can read a lot of it at the website the family keeps going.

I'm not at all sure that Nixon ever had a "Southern Strategy" -- maybe he only

had GOP computers?

Also -- the large computers used by MSM gave them new powers to PREDICT and CALL

elections -- winners, losers -- Electoral College votes -- even to name the new

president! That new power was simply REVERSED in 2000 when they recalled Florida

from Gore -- !!

As sort of an aside, I liked Charles Schumer's quote (different story, same page): "All the incoming GOP freshmen are Walker conservatives."

11. I STILL DON'T trust the voting machines
and the fake polls that make every race close--Gov. Strickland was handling the mess the repugs made when Taft's incompetence ruined the Ohio economy. Down here, in SE Ohio, there were many more Strickland signs that for Komrade K-suck (yes, I like it and I'm using it til he falls off the political map)

Let's get the exit polls back, and see what the real vote is!

14. so did we
here in cali (schwarzenegger). however, by the time people were pissed off enough to recall him, it was going to be too expensive to hold another recall election (which got him in in the first place), so he continued the damage. he didn't show his hand until his first term was done though.

ohio's situation sounds much more urgent, so don't wait! recall kasich asap!

31. It's not weird
It's exactly what happens when Tea-Baggers go to the polls in lockstop and "good" Democrats stay home, because....well, who knows why the hell they stayed home, but one thing is for sure...THIS SHIT ISN'T WORKING!

Nice message that was sent, huh? I swear, some Democrats and Independents are like people that suffer from "battered spouse syndrome"...

-"This time it will be different"
-"If I just stay home, or support the wingnut, he won't hit me anymore"
-"It's all my fault...there's no difference between the spouses...THEY ARE ALL THE SAME so it doesn't matter"

Oh well, maybe we have to go through hell to learn, eh?

22. Fuck Ohio
I left two years ago. Moved to another Nazi state called Florida. Ohios are some of the most ass-hat voters ever. Before Ted Strickland Ohio had Bob Taft as Govenor. He has an approval rating of 15% when he left office. 4 years of Strickland and "oh gee we can't have these libruls in office." So they vote in this asshat.

37. A lot of the Ohio democrats are populists on trade

I think if Obama and the dems would have been perceived as doing anything to slow free trade or protect US jobs like a lot of dems who win in red areas talk about then Strickland would have won.

The free trade issue really hurts the dems in these areas. Where the voters identify more with republicans on social issues. So take job protection off the table and the GOP wins.

Glad people are wising up to what having them in power really means though.

The bottom line is in much of the country elections are decided by imbeciles so blinded by hate as to be impervious to reality.
