Poll question: Who is the very worst Governor in the country?
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 05:15 PM by cali
So many choices. Apologies if your candidate didn't make it into the poll. there are only so many spaces....

Edit: By popular demand, I'm adding an all of the above and more option- which means I'm taking out (pretty randomly) one of the current candidates.

Really, the point of the poll was just a bit of black humor.

45. So Hard to Pick
Its like going out to the dumpster to pick out the smelliest piece of garbage. I would love it to be our beloved Governor Fred Flintstone here in NJ. (yabba dabba doo) However, there is just so much good competition for the (dis)honor.

31. Watch out...
In this warped reality, he could be the Regressive's next nominee for president, though I think Obama would trounce him. But I suspect a Diebold election this time so we would be wise not to be content.

15. Michigan well represented here, I see.
The "Emergency financial manager" bill that stupidass is going to sign into law is more than just a way to kill civil service unions. It is a way to sell off municipal assets to whomever he wants, while paying one of his buddies as much as he wants to "manage" the selloff.

21. Caribou Barbie's successor up here, Sean Parnell, is a sleeper contestant for that title
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 05:14 PM by Ken Burch
Parnell not only joined the anti-life lawsuit in opposition to the healthcare bill, but he is also pushing legislation to give oil companies a cumulative $2 Billion dollar tax cut in the hopes that they MIGHT do more exploration in the state(a cut that would force massive reductions in social spending and in revenue sharing to Alaskan cities and towns).

Sean Parnell is a classic example of the "it's the QUIET ones you have to keep an eye on" theory.

He wants to give the oil industry two billion dollars so they will keep doing what they have been, while making record profits, and at the same time cutting every social program especially education...

starting with the one closest to sanity.

Of the above list, that'd be Nikki Haley (SC). Pretty bad, to be sure, but she just isn't in the elite class with the others, or even write-ins like Florida's Scott.

41. so true!
About the "all of the above" choice!

Which brings us to the sad state of affairs that these horrors are in office because the whole system is corrupt. It takes too much money to run, and good people --truly good people-- are averse to running because of stilted, stupid scrutiny of their/their family members' personal lives. Plus the media makes a game (horse race) out the process with focus on abortion, gay rights... but no GENUINE attention to healthcare, housing, education, jobs, clean energy...

This state of affairs is unacceptable. You can't look at this list of villains, consider how many didn't make it, and not actually have a red alert feeling flow through you.

We are strategically in a crappy spot. Too many holes in the dam, we got shit busting lose in every direction. Barbarians at the gate and Third Way trojans eating away from within.

Play time is way over and there is little left to "compromise".
